K-Pop group BTS members Jimin and Suga have been named brand ambassadors for high-profile brands such as Dior and Valentino, as the fashion companies look to expand their global mainstream presence.
Jimin has been announced as Dior’s new global ambassador, with the company said certified “his friendship with the house” and its creative director Kim Jones, after the fashion brand worked with the seven-member group on stage outfits for their performances in concert.
Min Yoongi, professionally known as Suga in the group, was named the global ambassador at Valentino, joining their group of brand ambassadors called DI.VAs, an acronym for ‘Different Values’, which already includes Lewis Hamilton.
“Suga is a multifaceted artist; he is an interpreter and uses his talent and his work to express himself with energy and authenticity” Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative director of Valentino, said according to FashionUnited.
“He perfectly embodies everything that DI.VAs testimonials stand for: diversity, inclusivity, creativity and passion. We are happy to have him aboard and I am sure that we will do a lot of beautiful things together.”
