If you follow me on twitter, you know that I have been super into the figure skating events at the Olympics. Besides the mesmerizing lifts, and the nerve-racking jumps, my favourite thing about this sport is the costumes. Seriously, I love them all so much. I wish I could wear a figure-skating dress in real life and not get judged, but I know this isn’t the case. Now, I can’t be the only one who wishes they could dress like a figure skater on a daily basis, so I found some outfits that emulate my favourite ones in a more socially acceptable manner.
Yulia Lipnitskay

This girl is the story of the Olympics in skating. This 15-year-old Russian came on the scene, and blew us all away with her routine. Her music is from the film Schindler’s List, and her costume is based off one of the characters wears a red jacket, the only spot of colour in the movie. This red jacket is perfect for fall and spring. The black jeggings are stylish, but stretchy enough if you choose to attempt any of Yulia’s moves.
Gracie Gold

Gracie is a stand-out on team USA. Her skills and her smile make her an engaging skater to watch. Her outfit here is a pretty typical skating outfit. It’s clean, classy, yet still fun. This dress has the same feeling. The netting up top is sexy without being too revealing. The necklace adds a little bit of sparkle to the dress, and you can never go wrong with a black heel.
Kaetlyn Osmond

This Canadian’s costume is probably my favourite one I’ve ever seen. The wine-colour is stunning, and the embellishments keep it from being too plain. The dress I chose here can be dressed up for a fancy event, or dressed down for drinks on the town. This necklace is not quite as glammed-up as Kaetlyn’s costume, but the sleek design goes well with the dress. If you’re looking for your own golden moment, throw on these cute flats!
